This free standing garage on the grounds of an avant-garde artist/choreographer's Hamptons home will be transformed to house a studio on the second floor while maintaining a garage and workshop on the ground level. The new cubic massing will be enveloped monolithically, with a stuccoed concrete facade and frame providing privacy from nearby neighbors and softer more tactile facades wrapped in waved shingles, sloped as they rise to the roof, while peeling away to reveal windows, doors, exterior space and the concrete foundation.
