The clients for this Easthampton home requested an expansion to fit seamlessly with the existing house so as not to be an obvious addition. The new space includes a kitchen open to both living and dining rooms, a master bedroom suite with a sitting area, dressing room and a large master bath, all with complete privacy from the street. Windows have been positioned for views of the woods and a landscaped Japanese garden was created outside the master bath, surrounded by walls that appear to be part of the facade. Natural light enters the spaces through surprising openings, providing connections between the interior and the exterior landscape. The master bath utilizes materials evocative of water in its various states, an expression of the beach and ocean community.
