This penthouse, atop a venerable Park Avenue building, is being reconfigured so that the public spaces are contained within a glass box, transparent to the northern and southern exposures, while maintaining privacy at the rooftop level. New interior partitions are wood clad and a subtly curved wall directs circulation from the entry to the public space. The large new cook's kitchen has pocket doors, allowing for privacy when necessary, but connected to the larger public space when open. At the master bedroom and bath, a six foot long pocket door allows for an open connection between the two spaces. Living walls will be planted on exterior brick facades and a sculpture garden will occupy the terrace.
